I had a very good experience with 101 European Automotive. I found them to be fair and informative. I also like that I can access my service records online. I believe they can also put in the online file, the recommendations for upcoming repairs the mechanic could see would need to be done soon. That's great, because it gives me the time to save for those repairs (and find the predicted repair costs in my online file).

Reading these "other" reviews inspired me to write....to be honest, something I rarely do.I have old english cars. The owner and his son are complete professionals and I put a high degree of trust in their work and their pricing. I know quite a bit about mechanics and perform many repairs on my own, but when I get stuck, they are the go to guys. My experience with them has been excellent and pleasant and I was fully informed of cost every step of the way.It is rare to find the knowledge they posses with respect to the classics they work on.As a caveat, I know of first hand information of a vehicle they worked on and the owner complained about repairs that their involvement caused. The owner of the vehicle was wrong, and in fact, the damage was pre-existing their involvement. Yet at times, quite easy to assess blame, especially for uniformed owners.

I have a 1987 Porsche Cabriolet which is no longer in favor for servicing with most foreign garages. While I used to take it to Black Forest, they were pretty unresponsive to even getting an appointment. I brought it in to Phil and Adam, and have been pleasantly surprised. They know the car completely, can give it whatever it needs, and find the parts that are not even available any more. If you are wrestling with how to get quality service with your classic, you can rest easy by taking your car in to them. Phil knows his stuff forward and backward, and can tell you not only what is wrong, but what caused the problem. I have been going in for over a year now, and am really happy with the work they have done: from exhaust to tuneup to replacing broken parts in the passenger's door, etc. Most shops are not equipped to get into the esoteric problems these old cars can have, and do it right, with factory parts and fixing past errors caused by incompetents. Give them a try.

I agree with every word Jessica wrote. The owners and staff are helpful and accommodating when it comes to repairing your vehicle. I spent many years taking my german made car to the dealer but felt that it needed more specialized attention. In particular I wanted to KNOW that it had been worked on rather than hoping that the dealer did what they said they had done. The owners have such pride about their knowledge of german and british made cars and they love to pass it on. The car is washed and they assist prioritizing the repairs if you cannot afford to pay for everything at once. Give it a try you will not regret it.

First of all, they do not do Japanese cars and the other mechanic is no longer there so the two negative reviews here are not relevant.Adam and his Dad Phil (owner) are amazing, honest, knowlegeable and really are the best Porsche mechanics in San Diego... hands down. For German and Brittish cars, this is the place. My first experience was in January getting my good friend's 1991 Porsche 911 Convertible fixed up to sell. Pioneer could not figure out why the top would not work and what was draining the battery. After three tries there, I brought the car to Classic and they found the problem and fixed it. (It was complicated and they nailed it.) Phil also diagnosed and fixed other pesky issues that others had failed to cure. (a fuse that kept blowing, strange rattle and gauge problem.)I just brought my 1987 911 targa to them this past week. I treat this car like my baby and thought it was at optimal performance other than a bad AC system. Phil drove the car and inspected everything. He said there was a slight shake in the steering and the shifter was loose due to bad bushings. I was skeptical! The car had a major overhaul at Dieters and they never mentioned either of these issues. I thought nothing could be done. Phil changed the shift bushings and now the shifter is tight and shifting is a totally different/better experience. He upgraded a collar in the steering assembly and the steering is now much tighter and much more precise. As an extra, he cleaned the doorwells at no charge and literally went through the entire car. I think it simply bothered him that they were dirty. My kind of mechanic!!!He upgraded the AC evaporator (Kuehl), found and cured a pesky leak in an impossible to access place and got it blowing at a respectable 43 degrees. When I picked it up he had also waxed and detailed it for free. The car now drives so much better that I honestly can't believe it.He seriously is the Porsche whisperer. I have sent other Porsche owners to them and we are all now life customers. Be skeptical if you wish but call Adam/Phil at Classic and try them once. I guarantee you will never service your Porsche anyplace else. They also do Triumph, Bentleys, Astons and BMW's but my experience is exclusively 911 Porsches. Based upon there dedication and service, I would have no problem tasking them with work on any of the above brands.
